The four large cottonwood trees by the Troll Stroll are legendary to the community.. In the latter 1800s the trees designated the spot where homesteaders would divide up supplies hauled to Oakland from Arlington, about 30 miles away. Oakland-Craig students have played an important role in the upkeep of the Four Trees/Troll Stroll Park.
