The regular monthly meeting of the Oakland Heights Board of Directors convened in open and public session on October 15, 2025, in the Oakland Heights Conference Room. Notice of the meeting was made in advance thereof by posting in three places, one of the designated methods of giving notice. The meeting was called to order by President Judy Schernikau at 8:30 AM. A quorum was established with the presence of Randy Johnson, Kathy Rennerfeldt, Dan Tanksley, Jr., and Elisabeth Linder. Also present was Administrator Joshua Yeutter and visitor Andy Rennerfeldt of Integrity Alliance LLC. New business began with a presentation by Mr. Rennerfeldt on ideas and methods that could be used to invest funds that Oakland Heights has to ensure a strong financial future for the facility. Mr. Rennerfeldt left after the presentation, and Mr. Yeutter continued the meeting with a discussion of items listed on the agenda. A discussion and a motion was offered and seconded in regards to who the money would be invested with, on roll call 3 ayes, one, nay and one abstention, motion carried. A motion was offered and seconded as to the amount to be invested, on roll call, 4 ayes, and one abstention, motion carried. A motion was then offered and seconded on how the amount would be split into the types of investment, on roll call, 3 ayes and 2 abstentions, motion carried. A discussion on a policy related to call-in pay for non-nursing staff was held. A motion was made and seconded to change the language of the current policy to coincide with decision by previous board motions. On roll call, all ayes, no nays, motion carried. The holidays are around the corner. Research and legal council has been completed to ensure that the facility complies with state and federal regulations. The Board would like to thank all of the staff for their dedication by providing a choice between two types of main courses for their holiday meal in December. A motion was made and seconded, on roll call, all ayes, no nays, motion carried. A pharmacy discussion was going to be had, but due to a current contract expiration date, there is more time to evaluate before making a decision. Staffing is an ongoing concern with a need for RN/LPN for evening and night shifts, part-time/full-time CMA for Assisted living for evening and night shifts. Updates were given on upcoming and ongoing projects for improvement at the facility. There were no COVID-positive residents or staff during September/October. Census is at 34 at Oakland Heights and 21 currently in the Assisted Living. We are hiring full-time or part-time RN/LPN for evening and night shifts, full-time and part-time CMA for evening and night shifts for ALF. Incident summaries were reviewed, financials were distributed, and warrants were submitted for payment. A motion was offered by Randy Johnson, with a second from Kathy Rennerfeldt, to pay the warrants as submitted. On roll call, all ayes, no nays, motion carried. There being no further business to transact, the meeting was closed at 9:50 AM on October 15, 2025. Respectfully submitted, Daniel R.
