It was discussed that the individual requesting Keno funds should be present at the meeting to provide information regarding the request. The Council also discussed that Keno funds requested for an event or program should be used primarily for event materials, supplies, and marketing rather than event payouts. It was further discussed that Keno requests should be submitted at least one to two months prior to the scheduled event whenever possible. Council President Anderson made a motion to approve the Keno request in the amount of $1,000.00 for the “Dala Dash” event. Council Member Denker-Rost seconded motion. At 8:12pm Council President Anderson made a motion to approve and allow Logan Valley Quilters Group to apply for FOOF (Friends of Oakland Foundation) Grant and work through the city for the project. After discussion with Mayor and Council at 8:25pm Council Member Swenson made a motion to approve new policy for City Employee Meeting Attendance and Accrued Work Hours. " City Council Meeting Attendance Employees who are required or authorized to attend a City Council meeting to provide a report, presentation, departmental information, or otherwise represent or support their department will be permitted to accumulate up to one (1) hour of work time for attendance at the meeting. The one-hour allowance applies only to the employee’s required or authorized attendance at the City Council meeting and does not include time spent preparing reports, presentations, or other materials unless that work is otherwise compensable under the employee’s regular work schedule. Employees who are requested or required to attend a City Council meeting for departmental business must obtain authorization from their supervisor or department head. Any attendance exceeding one (1) hour must be approved in advance and will be handled in accordance with the City’s applicable personnel policies and wage-and-hour requirements. This policy does not apply to employees attending City Council meetings voluntarily or for personal reasons." Motion was seconded by Council Member Denker-Rost.
