The regular monthly meeting of the Oakland Heights Board of Directors convened in open and public session on July 16, 2025, in the Oakland Heights Conference Room. Notice of the meeting was made in advance thereof by posting in three places, one of the designated methods of giving notice. Minutes of the June 19, 2025 meeting were approved as distributed. The meeting was called to order by President Judy Schernikau at 8:30 AM. A quorum was established with the presence of Randy Johnson, Kathy Rennerfeldt, and Dan Tanksley, Jr. Also present was Administrator Joshua Yeutter and visitor Elisabeth Linder. New business began with the introduction and discussion of a new policy for employee longevity pay to replace a non-compliant one. The new policy was built based off of wording from legal counsel. A motion was made and carried to accept the policy pending legal review of final verbiage. A local pharmacy has voiced interest in providing coverage for both the nursing home and assisted living sides of the facility. Board guidance for further fact-finding efforts on potential pharmacy partners was given to Administrator Yeutter before making a decision. The Annual State Survey has been completed and necessary changes to procedures have been submitted and approved by the State. A motion was made and carried to enter into an agreement with a subscription-based, online continuing education platform that will provide required training to all employees of Oakland heights. Administrator Yeutter submitted the 2025-2026 Fiscal budget for review. After a reasonable amount of discussion, a motion was offered and seconded to accept and implement the budget. Facility improvement projects are starting with bids being accepted, following a motion and second, for foundation stabilization of the assisted living and concrete replacement of the assisted living parking lot and approach, and the east kitchen area and garage approaches as well as installation of a front patio for residents in the assisted living. The east concrete project will be reinforced further and all new concrete will have salt protection applied. Bids for flooring replacement in the Assisted Living dining room are still being accepted at this time. A certain number of computers will need to be replaced throughout the facility to ensure security compliance. An estimate was given and a motion to allow for the purchase of computers and other necessary equipment was made and carried. There were no COVID-positive residents or staff during June/July. Census is at 38 at Oakland Heights and 23 currently in the Assisted Living. We are hiring full-time or part-time RN/LPN for days and evenings, full-time or part-time CNAs for days and evenings, and a part-time housekeeper. Incident summaries were reviewed, financials were distributed, and warrants submitted for payment. A motion was offered by Kathy Rennerfeldt, with a second from Dan Tanksley Jr., to pay the warrants as submitted. On roll call, all ayes, no nays, motion carried. There being no further business to transact, the meeting was closed at 10:45 AM on July 16,2025. Respectfully submitted, Daniel R.
