The Board of Education of the Lyons-Decatur School District No. 20 met in regular session on Monday, August 11, 2025, in the Media Center. Present were Archer, Bacon, Brehmer, Christiansen, Miller, Myers, Petersen, Troutman, and Vlach. President, Lisa Christiansen opened the meeting at 7:30 p.m. Superintendent Report: The local area NASB meeting in Fremont will be held on Wednesday, September 24th. The EHA enrollment period is open for any board member interested in joining. Mr. Paul Cash will be retiring at the end of August, and we will be holding an open house for him on Wednesday, August 27th at 3:30 p.m. in the media center. We were contacted by the NDOT and will be providing a letter of support for a grant to replace the bridge in Decatur. Principal Report: The calendar and professional development plan for 2025-26 was shared. The PAWS program will begin on Monday, August 18th. The following motions were made: 1. To approve board policies: 5001 Attendance/Excessive Absenteeism, 5018 Parental Involvement, 5045 Student Fees, 5052 Wellness, 5054 Bullying, and 5057 Title I Parent and Family Engagement Policy, as presented. 7. To adopt the resolution to approve the base growth percentage of the property tax request authority for the district. 8. to designate the Burt County Independent as the official publication for the district. 9. to approve the board goals for 2025-26.
