The Board of Education of the Lyons-Decatur School District No. 20 met in regular session on Monday, January 13, 2025, in the Media Center. Present were Archer, Brehmer, Christiansen, Miller, Myers, Petersen, Troutman, and Vlach. Excused Absent: Bacon Lindsey Beaudette opened the meeting at 7:31 p.m. Public Comment: Charlie Wheaton addressed the board of education. Superintendent Report: The 2025 board committees were discussed and updated. There was a legislative preview on December 11th that I attended. Senator Tom Brandt, Senator Jana Hughes, and the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce President, Bryan Slone spoke about the upcoming session. Discussion was held on community access to the weight room. Principal Report: Professional development the last month was spent on special education, climate, data, PBiS, and MTSS. Activities and events are happening throughout the district – please check the website and social media sites for the latest happenings. The following motions were made: 1. That the President, Vice President, and Sec./Treasurer for Burt County School District #20 board of education remain in office and serve another 1-year term. 2. To approve the consent agenda. There is a P2T board meeting on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in West Point.
