Oakland Heights Board Meeting Summary and Warrants The regular monthly meeting of the Oakland Heights Board of Directors convened in open and public session on December 17, 2025, in the Oakland Heights Conference Room. Notice of the meeting was made in advance thereof by posting in three places, one of the designated methods of giving notice. The meeting was called to order by President Judy Schernikau at 8:30 AM. A quorum was established with the presence of Randy Johnson, Kathy Rennerfeldt, Dan Tanksley, Jr., and Elisabeth Linder. Also present was Administrator Joshua Yeutter. New business began with the issuing and acceptance of the resignation of Board Member Kathy Rennerfeldt. Many thanks are extended to her for her dedication to the Oakland Heights and its residents. A replacement candidate was suggested. A motion was made and carried to accept the resignation and the submission of the replacement candidate. Judy Schernikau was also up for a term renewal. Mrs. Schernikau has agreed to continue for another term. A motion was made and carried to accept the term renewal for Judy Schernikau. Discussion was continued with an update on the many projects at the facility. Outdoor projects are complete to the best of their ability due to weather. Interior updates to the facility are ongoing as time allows. Due to increased premium costs, a new health insurance plan had to be sourced to ensure similar coverage at a reasonable rate. Due to increasing issues with the current internet and TV provider, new providers are being reviewed for implementation in the spring. The board reviewed current staffing levels and needs. Staff burnout is a major concern! A major mechanical failure on a snow removal attachment happened in the last snowfall. Cost to repair versus replace was had and a motion was made to accept a bid for the replacement of the attachment. The staff Christmas party is scheduled for February 7, 2026. At the end of the meeting, 2 concerns brought to the Board’s attention were addressed. Change takes time and education, so please bear with us as we navigate it. There were no COVID-positive residents or staff during November/December. Census is at 36 at Oakland Heights and 20 currently in the Assisted Living. We are hiring full-time or part-time RN/LPN for all shifts, full-time and part-time CMA for evening and night shifts for ALF, and part-time or full-time CNA/CMA for the SNF. Incident summaries were reviewed, financials were distributed, and warrants were submitted for payment. A motion was offered by Dan Tanksley Jr., with a second from Elisabeth Linder, to pay the warrants as submitted. On roll call, all ayes, no nays, motion carried. There being no further business to transact, the meeting was closed at 9:36 AM on December 17, 2025. Respectfully submitted, Daniel R.
