Minutes of the Burt County Board of Supervisors The Burt Co. Board of Supervisors met February 12, 2025 in the Boardroom of the Burt Co. Courthouse in Tekamah, NE. Notice was given in the Lyons Mirror-Sun, a 1st floor courthouse bulletin board and on Co. website; proof of publication is on file with Co. Clerk. The following members were present: Gary “Bird” Swanson, Jeff Kutchera, Sam Titus, Carl Pearson, Jay W. Johnson and Ted Connealy. Absent- Paul Richards. The meeting opened at 9:00 A.M. with the pledge of Allegiance; Open Meeting Act was posted. The agenda was approved. The minutes of 1/28/2025 Bd Equalization and Bd Supervisors meetings were approved. January office financial reports and Fund Balances were approved. Office updates from Building & Grounds – Bruce Nathan and Zoning – Ann Chytka. District Court – Michele Quick informed the board about LB216, a letter of opposition was submitted. COMMUNICATION: Lwr. Elkhorn NRD - municipality funding opportunities; application deadline to the NRD is March 15, 2025. Zoning: Conditional Use Permit and Lot Split approved for E 720 Farms, LLC to build a house in SW4SE4 of 25-21-9. Conditional Use Permit and Lot split approved for Brent Hilbers to expand to a Class 1 Large Feeding Operation in pt. NW4NW4 of 24-21-8. Burt County Economic Development (BCEDC): Fund 0900 DEMO Grant was approved for 1114 M. ST., Tekamah, $5,250.00 (50% of the low bid). BCEDC Board members: a record of those currently serving can be obtained from the Co. Clerk’s office. Fund 0990 - Visitor’s Committee Members: Cindy Chatt reported that she is working on updating members of this committee; she is also planning to put together an info packet with Lodging Tax remittance instructions that will be shared with lodging businesses. Special Designated Liquor Licenses approved for Chatterbox at St Patrick’s Catholic Church (Tekamah) for 2025 Lenten fish fry dinners to be held every Friday from March 7 – April 11, 2025. ROADS: no action. PUBLIC COMMENT: Gregg Smith, 2170 CoRd. 5, Lyons – stated he is looking forward to the upcoming solar zoning reg meetings. The meeting adjourned at 10:12 A.M.
