Minutes of the Burt County Board of Supervisors The Burt Co. Bd of Supervisors met February 28, 2025, in the Boardroom of the Burt Co. Courthouse in Tekamah, NE. Emergency Manager Jason provided an update on the current conditions of the Missouri River regarding river levels, ice jams, etc. He reported Burt Co. is not in any flood watches or alerts at this time. ROADS: Ann Chytka, Highway Superintendent. Gravel: Glen Schuetze provided 2025 bids from Stalp Gravel. Engineering: Dan Norman from Civil Solutions provided an introduction of the company and services offered. Co.Rd. HI and Co.Rd. IJ: Mark Mainelli of Mainelli, Wagner & Assoc. Engineering - explained the utilization of water and road studies in this area for engineering plans for future road projects that are included on Burt Co.’s current One & Six Year Plans. Board of Equalization meeting was held from 10:06 a.m. – 10:16 a.m. See separate minutes. Burt Co. Economic Development (BCEDC): Fund 0900 Grants were approved. (1) DEMO Grant for residence 481 W 11th, Decatur, $6,220.00 (50% of low bid); (2) DEMO Grant for residence 310 E 10th, Decatur, $3,450.00 (50% of low bid). Present were Supervisors: Gary ‘Bird’ Swanson, Jeff Kutchera, Sam Titus, Carl Pearson, Jay W. Johnson and Paul Richards. Absent - Ted Connealy. Also present: Katie Hart, Burt Co. Assessor and Robin Olson, Burt Co. Treasurer. The meeting opened at 10:06 A.M.; Open Meeting Act was posted on the wall. Assessor Hart reported six (6) new Property Exemption applications (Form 451’s) filed for 2025; public hearing and BOE decisions will be held 3/12/2025 BOE mtg. Tax List correction - parcel 310906500 for tax year 2023 was approved. Vehicle Exemptions were approved for (5) Vehicles for the Center for Rural Affairs. The BOE mtg. was adjourned at 10:16 AM.
