Margaret R. Grotelueschen, 90

Margaret Rose Dvorak Grotelueschen was born June 23, 1932, and was adopted to the loving home of Anton and Rose Navrkal on a farm near Linwood. She passed away Sept. 4, 2022, at St Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point at the age of 90.

Margaret attended a one room school until the 8th grade. At the age of 17 she found the love of her life, Jerry Dvorak, and married him on Feb. 11, 1950. To this union four children were born: Kathy, Jan, and twins Vladimir and Melissa. Jerry passed June 14, 1982.

Margaret worked at several places in the early years while living in Fremont, Tekamah, Clarkson and Columbus. On March 26, 1988, she married Elmer Grotelueschen, who later passed on June 14, 1997. In June of 2002 Margaret moved to Oakland, where she was active in the Golden Oaks Center and First United Methodist Church. She had many friends in both Columbus and Oakland and always enjoyed a visit from family members.

Survivors include her children, Kathy (Mike) Uhing of Craig, Jan (Karen) Dvorak of Columbus, Vladimir (Carol) Dvorak of Palmer, Ark. and Melissa (Kevin) Hart of Juniata; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren with three on the way; half-sister, MaryAnn Smith; half-brother George Fiala; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service, Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Oakland.

Visitation, one hour prior to service at the church
