HELP WANTED The Village of Decatur is taking applications for the following position: Full-Time Maintenance Employee. Requirements are: Valid Driver’s License Pass Drug Test High School Diploma or GED. Pass the Sewer Certification within the first six months of employment. Pass the Water Certification within the first three years of employment. Check the Water & Sewer Plant daily to make sure things are working correctly. Check all lift stations within the Village. Repair water and sewer lines as needed. Collect water and sewer samples and send to the State. Perform maintenance on tractors, mowers and vehicles. Remove snow as needed. Patch and repair streets and alleys as needed. Mow, trim and spray. Replace fuses on electrical poles as needed. Use backhoe, tractor, basket truck, and use a stick shift. Read water and electric meters monthly, or as needed. Replace electric meters and water meters. Work with the Public. Keep the shop, water plant and sewer plant neat and clean.
