Burt County Board of Equalization Meetings of the Burt Co Board of Equalization were held July 14 & July 24, 2026 to hold hearings and make decisions on 2026 Form 422 Property Valuation Protests and other BOE business. The meetings were all held in the Burt Co Courthouse in Tekamah, NE. Notice of the meeting(s) given in advance in the Burt County Independent and on the Co. Website. Copies of the proof of publication(s) are on file with the Co Clerk. July 14, 2026 - 9:00 a.m. Supervisors Present: Ted Connealy, Gary “Bird” Swanson, Sam Titus, Carl Pearson, Jay W. Johnson, Paul Richards and Jeff Kutchera. Present from the Assessor’s Office: Katie Hart, Burt Co. Assessor. Public Hearings were held for 2026 Property Valuation Protests from 9:01 A.M. - 10:55 P.M. Other BOE business held on July 14 was two (2) approval for extensions for homestead filings. The BOE meeting adjourned at 10:57 a.m. July 24, 2026 – 9:00 a.m. Supervisors Present: Ted Connealy, Gary “Bird” Swanson, Sam Titus, Carl Pearson, Jay W. Johnson, Paul Richards and Jeff Kutchera. Present from the Assessor’s Office: Katie Hart, Burt Co. Assessor. Assessor’s 3 yr. Plan of Assessment was placed on file. Action on 2026 Form 422’s #1-24 –Final Decisions were approved; notice of decisions will be sent and property owners will have option to appeal to TERC if they choose. Other BOE business - one (1) overvalue property adjustment; and annual review of real property used for Cemetery purposes.
