NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed bids will be received at the office of the Burt County Clerk until August 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. and opened shortly thereafter, for the construction of two asphaltic concrete patching projects. The project sites are located as follows: C-11(362) – on Road 21 between Road D and Road H and C-11(364) – on Road H between Highway 77 and Road 21 both in Burt County, Nebraska. The projects are referred to as “Burt County 2022 Patching” and shall include all labor, materials, transportation and equipment required for the construction of: C-11(362) – approximately 750 tons of asphaltic concrete for patching, Type “SPR” over 3.7 miles and C-11(364) – approximately 1250 tons of asphaltic concrete for patching, Type “SPR” over 6.2 miles and other related incidental work. Copies of the Bid Documents and Specifications are open to public inspection at the Burt County Highway Superintendent’s Office, 111 N 13th St., Suite 3, Tekamah, Nebraska 68061. A set of documents may be obtained from Mainelli Wagner & Associates, Inc. 6920 Van Dorn Street, Lincoln, NE 68506 (Phone: 402-421-1717) for a non-refundable fee of $10.00. All Bid Proposals must be submitted on the forms furnished with the Bid Documents. The sealed bids may be mailed or delivered to the County Clerk of Burt County, Burt County Courthouse, 111 N. 13th Street Tekamah, Nebraska 68061, and should be plainly marked as, “Construction Bid Proposal – Burt County 2022 Patching”. Along with its Bid Proposal, each bidder shall submit an unconditional Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable to the County Treasurer of Burt County, Nebraska, in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the Bid Proposal. Also, each bidder is to provide a Start of Construction date and an End of Construction date with their Bid Proposal. The desired completion date for all sites is November 30, 2022. The successful bidder (i.e. Contractor) will be allowed: C-11(362) – twenty (20) calendar days, C-11(364) – thirty five (35) calendar days for completion after beginning work at that site, provided they do not exceed their specified completion date. Additional days due to weather may be granted at the discretion of the Engineer. Within ten (10) days following the award of the Contract, the successful bidder shall furnish a surety bond or bonds in an amount equal to or greater than the full amount of the contract. The surety and form of the bonds are subject to the acceptance by the Burt County Board of Supervisors. Burt County, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Dept of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally assisted programs of the Dept of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidden that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, sex, age and disability/handicap in consideration for award. The Burt County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any irregularities in bids received. Award of the Contract will be in accordance with the County Purchasing Act’s competitive bidding considerations as set forth in Neb.Rev.Stat. §§ 23-3110 to 23-3114.
