NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON AN APPLICATION FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Thursday, August 11, 2022, in the Craig Fire Hall, 333 S. Main Street, the Village Board of the Village of Craig will hold a public hearing concerning an application to the Nebraska Department of Economic Development for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). This grant is available to local governments for community/ economic development activities. The Village of Craig is requesting $433,000 in CDBG funds for Public Works (PW) for a 2” mill and asphalt overlay with storm sewer replacement including outlet grading and earthwork, 7” concrete pavement base repair, curb inlets and 18” RCP storm pipe. The need for this project was identified in a recent street evaluation study, as well as in the Village’s One- and Six-Year Plan. The project will take place in the Village of Craig on Main Street from the park entrance road (440’N/Carlson) south three blocks to the intersection of Walnut Street and Main Street. $355,875 will be used for the construction of the Craig Street Improvement Project. $88,969 will be used for engineering services, $8,000 will be used for construction management, and $25,000 will be used for general administration of the grant. The Village of Craig will provide matching funds of $44,844. The total budget for project cost and grant administration is $477,844. All CDBG funds will benefit Low-to Moderate Income (LMI) persons. The Village is 66.10% LMI. No person will be displaced as a result of CDBG activities. The grant application will be available for public inspection at the Village Offices, 196 N. Main Street, Craig, Nebraska. All interested parties are invited to attend this public hearing at which time you will have an opportunity to be heard regarding the grant application. Written and oral testimony will also be accepted at the public hearing scheduled for 7:00 p.m., August 11, 2022, at the Craig Fire Hall, 333 S. Main Street.
