Lots Split: signed for STRATMAN/LIPPS – 7.15 ac. pt. SE4 NE4 in 4-21-11. Abandoned RR property South of County Roads Shed in Tekamah: Prinz Grain is interested in buying the portion of abandoned RR extending from ‘C’ Street, South of the Tekamah County Shed; there is a questions of ownership of the old RR. Jason Prinz explained that he has been unsuccessful in securing a title search on the property (title companies have been unable to confirm ownership); the ownership results have come down to either Burt County or City of Tekamah owning it. Mr. Prinz wanted confirmation from the board that if he obtains a survey on the piece, the County is willing to waive any rights to the property. The board encouraged Mr. Prinz to proceed with the survey, there would not be a problem on the County’s part of releasing any rights. Commercial Renovation Grant Application: Harvest Moon applied for BCEDC Grant Funds for outside lighting. Harvest Moon is not currently valued as ‘commercial’; therefore, it does not meet requirements for BCEDC Commercial Reno Grant. No action was taken; application was tabled. The Burt Co Economic Dev Board reported an approved change of verbiage that extended Grant App opportunities to ‘commercial buildings within Burt Co driving tourism’; previously Grant opportunities were only offered to businesses within City Limits/City Zoning Jurisdiction. The Burt Co Board felt the verbiage was not clear and suggested BCEDC further discuss and revise their language before any Grants outside of City Limits could be considered. Board of Equalization (9:36 - 9:41 a.m.): A public hearing was held and a 457 vehicle exemption for 2023 was approved for the Center for Rural Affairs for a 2022 Chevrolet Malibu. See separate BOE minutes on Co website. Burt Co K-9: Sheriff Deputy Tristan Kautman, K-9 handler, moved to Wisconsin; K-9 Sheisty will go with his handler. The board approved a contract to transfer ownership of K-9 Sheisty to City of Prairie du Chien Police Department eff Oct. 20, 2023 for $10,000.00… motion Titus, Richards, All Ayes. ROADS: no action. PRESS/PUBLIC COMMENT: none The meeting adjourned upon motions by Connealy and Swanson at 10:01 A.M. Next Meeting: November 8, 2023 @ 9:00 A.M. SARAH J.
