Minutes of the Burt County Board of Supervisors The Burt Co.Board of Supervisors met May 26, 2023 in the Boardroom of the Burt Co. Courthouse in Tekamah, NE. Medicare SHIP Program: Mary Loftis presented an overview of her services provided during 2022-23 contract for Medicare SHIP Programming. Loftis reported the contract is working out well, and she will continue to serve all three Counties of Burt, Dodge and Washington. Loftis presented a contract for July 1, 2023-June 30, 2024 with fees staying the same as last year’s contract; Burt Co.-$11,274.00 (70%); Dodge Co.- $2,416.00 (15%); and Washington Co.- $2,416.00 (15%); the Counties will be billed quarterly. Budget Authority Proposal for FY23-24 Budget Prep: The board accepted Sarah Freidel and Jeannette Blanc’s proposal to do the County’s budget for 2023-2024 for the total amount of $4,000.00. Freidel will receive $2,500.00 for Budget Prep, preparation of all notices, preparation of required power point per LB148, and submission of all documents to the State; Blanc will receive $1,500.00 for assisting within Budget Prep Software and prep of any working and/or final documents for submission… approved upon motions Connealy, Kutchera, all Ayes. Budget Prep for FY23-24: For purposes of planning Budgets; Officials will include “up to 6 %” on salaries/wages for c.o.l. for their employees per Resolution 2022-02 “not to exceed 6% increase” for Jan-June 2024. Special Designated Liquor License(s) were approved for Nelson’s Food Pride for (2) dates they are serving for wedding receptions at Harvest Moon; July 8, 2023 and August 5, 2023… motions Swanson, Pearson, all Ayes. Burt County Noxious Weed Program: Chairman Schold signed the 2022 ‘Reports and Requirements Summary’ for Burt County; the report is issued by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, Noxious Weed Program. Aerial Photography: Katie Hart, Burt Co.Assessor shared the finalized contract for Eagleview; the board had previously accepted the services at April 12, 2023 meeting. Donette Jackson (Tekamah) expressed concerns and offered comments about action/decisions of the Board of Supervisors. ROADS: Ann Chytka, Hwy Supt. Fleet – Bids for TWO (2) NEW OR CURRENT PRODUCTION MODEL TANDEM TRUCK WITH CAB & CHASSIS WITH DUMP BODY & HYDRAULIC SYSTEM NEW 12’ REVERSIBLE COMPRESSION HIGH SPEED SNOW PLOW NEW HYDRAULIC V-BOX SAND SPREADER RIGHT HAND MID MOUNT PATROL WING: Two Sealed Bids were opened at the May 10, 2023 meeting; no action was taken at that time. The bid from Master Tech Truck & Equipment (Wichita, KS) for two (2) Kenworth trucks with snow and ice equipment was accepted… motion Titus, Swanson, all Ayes. Equipment/Bid Details: 2024 Kenworth T880S Trucks with Dump Bed; Snow Plows/v-box spreaders/9’wing. $339,359.00 per unit. Two Year Warranty. Expected delivery – 1st quarter of 2024. Current equipment (2 trucks) Trade-in $90,000.00 offered. EWP projects – Chytka explained when there is a rain event exceeding 3” within 24 hours, certain bridge inspections are performed; she reported clean-up and stabilization action will be completed on some bridges following May 2023 rain event(s).
