LYONS CITY COUNCIL MEETING November 22, 2022 A special meeting of the Mayor and Council of the City of Lyons was called to order by Mayor Fuston at 5:30 P.M., November 22, 2022, at Lyons City Hall. Present were Council members Brink, Wheaton, Housh Sr. and Steinmeyer. The meeting was called to order upon motion by Wheaton, second by Brink. On roll call, AYE: Wheaton, Steinmeyer, Brink, Housh Sr. NAY: None. MOTION CARRIED Motion by Steinmeyer, seconded by Brink to sign up for Mutual of Omaha’s Life/AD&D with $20,000 in coverage for employees for $43.20/month, Mutual of Omaha’s Voluntary Life/AD&D with $25,000 for Employees, $25,000 for Spouse and $10,000 for Dependents for $129/month and cancel Life Insurance plan with Lincoln Financial. On roll call, AYE: Wheaton, Steinmeyer, Brink, Housh Sr. NAY: None. MOTION CARRIED. Motion by Steinmeyer, seconded by Brink to approve St. John Lutheran Church to use city lot west of Library to do a live nativity on December 18th from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. On roll call, AYE: Wheaton, Steinmeyer, Brink, Housh Sr. NAY: None. MOTION CARRIED Motion by Wheaton, seconded by Brink to enter Executive Session at 5:43 PM to discuss Police personnel. On roll call, AYE: Wheaton, Steinmeyer, Brink, Housh Sr. NAY: None. MOTION CARRIED Motion by Steinmeyer, seconded by Housh Sr. to return to regular session at 5:53 PM. On roll call, AYE: Wheaton, Steinmeyer, Brink, Housh Sr. NAY: None. MOTION CARRIED Motion by Steinmeyer seconded by Housh Sr. to approve the hiring of Bryan Dunn as Lyons Police Chief with a salary of $60,000. On roll call, AYE: Wheaton, Steinmeyer, Brink, Housh Sr. NAY: None. MOTION CARRIED Motion by Wheaton, seconded by Steinmeyer to adjourn meeting at 5:55PM.
