Dr. Linda Abbey Hunter, 66 years old of Lyons, Nebraska, suddenly passed away December 24 in Brighton, Colorado. A Celebration of Life will be held in Oakland, Nebraska at the VFW Hall, 420 N. Oakland Ave. on Saturday, January 20 at 1:30 p.m. Please come to share your memories of Linda.

Linda was born on June 18, 1957 to Betty Jean Traylor Abbey and Charlie Ray Abbey in Coleman, Texas.

Linda graduated from Coleman High School in 1975. She later went on to Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She continued her education at Regent University, Virginia Beach, Virginia receiving a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and Doctor of Psychology. Linda fulfilled her residency program in Lincoln, Nebraska. Linda then came to Oakland, Nebraska and started her own business, Northeast Nebraska Psychological Services with locations also in Lyons, Tekamah, and Fremont.

Linda was loved and will be missed by many of her patients and was greatly admired by her peers.

Linda met Dave Brooks when she moved to Oakland, Nebraska. He is the love of her life and they have had many wonderful years together. They loved raising Chocolate Lab puppies together, watching NFL football, having a friendly competition on their knowledge of the game and waging between the two of them.

Linda is predeceased in death by her mother Betty.

Survivors include Dave Brooks, her father Charlie of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister Patricia Ann Abbey of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sons Christopher Lee Ferguson and wife Kristy of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Steven Wayne Ferguson of Portland, Oregon; David Brooks, Jr. of Lincoln; and Remington Brooks and fiancé Savanna Chessher of Dover, Delaware. Grandchildren include (Christopher's children) Nicole (Ferguson) Stober and husband Patrick, Zachari Ferguson, Alexis Ferguson, Maddison Ferguson, Hailee Ferguson, Ryker Ferguson; (Steven's Children) Rylie Ferguson, Piper Ferguson, Reece Ferguson, Steven Ferguson; and (Remington's Child) Hudson Brooks. Great Grandchildren include Calvin Stober, Nixon Stober, Kingsley Ferguson, and Kolbe Ferguson.

Services and burial for Linda, will be held at the Chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 6th.
