Kenneth Earnest Otteman, 91, of Mesa, AZ passed away on January 26, 2024, at his residence in Mesa. AZ.
Kenneth Ernest Otteman, 91, of Lyons, Nebraska passed away on January 26, 2024, at his son’s home in Mesa Arizona. Kenny was born in Pender NE on April 5, 1932, to Rosa and Ernest Otteman the younger of two children.
On September 11, 1955, Kenny married Sharlene Nelson. Together they had four children. They celebrated 53 years of marriage together.
Kenny farmed in the Pender area until he and Sharlene moved to California in 1980. Kenny was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, and woodworker. He spent hours in his shop building homemade things for his beloved grandchildren. After being widowed in 2008, he discovered a love of dancing and spent many a night cutting a rug with his companion June. After some health issues, Kenny moved to Mesa, AZ to live with his son Jon and Jon’s family.
Kenny is survived by his son, David; daughter, Teresa; son, Jon (Staci); nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Proceeded in death by his wife Sharlene, and his son Alan.
A visitation for Kenneth will be on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE. The funeral will be on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lyons, NE. Private family burial with military honors will be in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery west of Pender, NE.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.
