Habitat for Humanity of Omaha (HFHO)is submitting an application to the USDA under its Fiscal Year 2025 Housing Preservation Grant for $100,000 to complete five home repair projects for very-low-to-low-income homeowners living in Burt County, NE. The total budget for the project is $100,000, with an indirect cost rate of 15%. Homeowners will be selected for this project based on their income and the housing preservation needs of their dwelling, as evaluated by HFHO’s home repair project team. Home repairs critical to the safety and health of the homeowner will be prioritized. Work will be completed by qualified, vetted contractors, with HFHO project staff monitoring and inspecting the work performed. Projects will be evaluated for potential environmental impacts and will mitigate any impacts as required by applicable federal code and the requirements of the USDA Housing Preservation Grant. Work will comply with Rural Development standards, and will be completed between November 2025 and October 2027. The effectiveness of the program will be measured by timely, quality completion of the repairs, homeowner satisfaction with the repairs, and the preservation of the housing unit. Program income will be used to complete additional home repairs for low-income homeowners. HFHO conducts outreach in line with all Fair Housing requirements. Residents interested in submitting a comment or concern regarding this application should email Habitat Omaha at grants@habitatomaha.org before September 4, 2025. ZNEZ BCI 08-21 & 08-28-25
