City of Oakland Planning Commission Meeting June 21st, 2022, Minutes A meeting of the Oakland Planning Commission was held on June 21st, 2022, at 7:01p.m. In the City Auditorium. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Todd Cull. Planning commissioners in attendance were Todd Cull, Darla Nelson, Dan Tanksley III and Jacob Schieffer. Absent: Jordan Swenson A quorum was established. Also, in attendance was Zoning Administrator Kayla Eisenmenger. Also in attendance : Property owners Cary Ham and Cal & Sara Anderson. At 7:02 pm Darla Nelson made a motion to waive the three readings of the minutes of the June 7th, 2022, meeting and to approve them as presented. Dan Tanksley III seconded the motion. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. At 7:02 pm Dan Tanksley III made a motion to open public hearing discussion regarding building permit and permitted conditional use permit pertaining to Section 5.07.05 regarding L14-15 BLK47 HULBERTS ADD OAKLAND commonly known as 709 N Oakland Ave. Seconded by Jacob Schieffer. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. Property owner Cary Ham explained needing 3 feet from the South side instead of the required 5 ft within the fenced in area to allow the accessory building to fit. This building will be proportionate with the existing house. They do own two lots. At 7:09 pm Todd Cull made a motion to recommend the building permit and permitted conditional use permit pertaining to Section 5.07.05 regarding L14-15 BLK47 HULBERTS ADD OAKLAND commonly known as 709 N Oakland Ave and the requested 3 ft side yard on the South lot line for the purpose of a new garage. to the City Council at the June 2022 meeting. Motion was seconded by Darla Nelson. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. At 7:12 pm Dan Tanksley III made a motion to close public hearing discussion regarding building permit and permitted conditional use permit pertaining to Section 5.07.05 regarding L14-15 BLK47 HULBERTS ADD OAKLAND commonly known as 709 N Oakland Ave. Seconded by Jacob Schieffer. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. At 7:12 pm Todd Cull made a motion to open public hearing discussion regarding building permit and permitted conditional use permit pertaining to Section 5.07.05 regarding L4 Ex7’ Blk G Nelson Addition / N2L2 ExE 7’ & ALL L3 Blk G Nelson Addition commonly known as 605 N Davis Ave. Seconded by Darla Nelson. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. Property owner Cal and Sara Anderson explained they are wanting to build onto their house to the North/East side of their house. It will not extend past their house but be level with it. They are asking for 3 ft instead of the required 8 ft on side yards when building onto a single- family dwelling unit. They have already discussed their plans with their neighbors to the North and all is in good standing with them on this project and the 3 ft. At 7:16pm Todd Cull made a motion to recommend building permit and permitted conditional use permit pertaining to Section 5.07.05 regarding L4 Ex7’ Blk G Nelson Addition / N2L2 ExE 7’ & ALL L3 Blk G Nelson Addition commonly known as 605 N Davis Ave and the requested 3ft for side yard setback on the North for their addition to their single-family dwelling unit. Seconded by Darla Nelson. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. At 7:18pm Darla Nelson made a motion to close public hearing regarding building permit and permitted conditional use permit pertaining to Section 5.07.05 regarding L4 Ex7’ Blk G Nelson Addition / N2L2 ExE 7’ & ALL L3 Blk G Nelson Addition commonly known as 605 N Davis Ave. Seconded by Dan Tanksley III. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. Section 5.07.05 With no further business to come before the planning commission, the meeting adjourned at7:45 p.m. Motion made by Dan Tanksley III and seconded by Todd Cull.
