City of Oakland Council Proceedings September 25th, 2023 On September 25th, 2023, the governing body met for the purpose of hearing support, opposition, criticism, suggestions or observations of taxpayers relating to the final tax request at a different amount than the prior year tax request. The public had been advised of the meeting by the publication of notice in Oakland Independent as well as three public places: City Auditorium, Post Office, and First NE Bank of Nebraska. Mayor Jacobs started the meeting at 5:07 p.m. with Roll Call. Council President Nathan Anderson, Council Member Jeremiah Johansen, and Council Scot Swenson were all in attendance. Excused: Council Member Amy Denker-Rost. All present Voting: Aye (Nathan, Jeremiah, Scott)- 3, Nay - 0. Also in attendance was Clerk Kayla Eisenmenger. Motions were made, seconded, and carried for the following items of business: 1. At 5:09 pm Council President Anderson made a motion to open the Final Tax Levy Hearing for Fiscal Year 2023-2024. Motion was seconded by Council Member Swenson. All present Voting: Aye (Nathan, Jeremiah, Scott)- 3, Nay - 0. After no comments from the audience Motion was made to close the Final Tax Levy Hearing for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 by Council President Anderson. Motion was seconded by Council Member Swenson at 5:09 p.m. All present Voting: Aye (Nathan, Jeremiah, Scott)- 3, Nay - 0. 2.
