Betty J. Homes, 93

Betty Jean (White) Homes passed away Sept. 15, 2022, peacefully at Oakland Heights in Oakland. Betty was born Dec. 17, 1928, to Herman and Helen (Schwinck) White in West Point.

Betty graduated from West Point High School. Betty married Lloyd Homes on Oct. 17, 1950. She was a teacher at Country schools around the West Point, Scribner, and Oakland areas. Betty and Lloyd had one son, Tom Lloyd Homes born March 24, 1952.

Betty was very active around the Oakland area. She taught Sunday school in Oakland. She was also a part of many clubs including the Society Garden Club and Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening with Lloyd, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and decorating for every holiday.

Betty survived by her sister, Bonnie Bohling of West Point; son, Tom (Sharon) Homes of Scribner; grandchildren: Doug Homes of Wynot, Mike Homes of Scribner, Jenny Wolfgram of Fremont; great-grandchildren: Chauncey Homes of Las Vegas, Nev., Dylan (Daria) Wolfgram of West Point, and Sydney Wolfgram of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Homes (2008); parents: Helen and Herman White; her three brothers; one sister; great-granddaughter, Ariana Wolfgram (2022); and many cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law.

Funeral service,  Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, 10:30 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland.
