The regular monthly meeting of the Oakland Heights Board convened March 10, 2021 at 8:30 A.M. in the Rosen Room. Notice of meeting was made public in advance thereof by posting notice in three places, one of the designated methods for giving advance notice. The meeting was called to order by President Judy Schernika. Present was Sally Olson, Dan Tanksley, Jr., Randy Johnson, Kathy Rennerfeldt. Also, in attendance was Administrator Amie Clausen, Director of Nursing Christina Arnold, Business Office Manager Karen Nelson. Minutes of the February 22, 2021 meeting were approved as distributed. Old Business – Oakland Public Transit remains in the process of meeting the requirements to get a garage, there will be the purchase of a laptop that will be used by transit paid for in full with federal funds. COVID-19 response measures remain in place. Some residents are now allowed visits. Assisted Living residents may now have visits and attend events outside of the facility as vaccination guidelines of 90% of residents and 75% of staff in AL have been vaccinated. The $2.00 per hour COVID pay will be re-evaluated next month. New Business – Sally Olson made the motion to move the Board Meeting to the second Wednesday of each month. Dan Tanksley, Jr. seconded, motion carried. The transition of Administer, Amie will be employed full-time till March 31, 2021 and will assist the facility till the replacement arrives April 5, 2021. A certificate of deposit valued at $84,567.66 was cashed to cover expenses. Amie attended a meeting of other government – owned facilities and it was indicated that with the Cares Act Money that maybe released money will be going to local governments to handle expenses, this may be used to assist facilities with COVID expenses. The roof has been repaired and now the dining room celling needs repaired Randy Johnson made a motion to accept the bid from Dixon Builders of $19,285.63 to repair the ceiling Kathy Rennerfeldt seconded and motion carried. QAPI was presented by Christina Arnold. And will meet today for the seconded meeting under this format. Facility had one new admission to Oakland Heights then moved to Assisted Living. Currently 35 residents in the nursing home and 13 in assisted living. There are open positions for Medication Assistance, Nursing Assistance, Full time RN or LPN. Incident summaries were reviewed and the financials were distributed. Dan Tanksley, Jr. made a motion to pay warrants; Kathy Rennerfeldt seconded. Motion carried. At 9:35 a.m. entered into executive session with Administrator Amie Clausen. Resumed open session at 10:15. There being no further business, Vice President Kathy Rennerfeldt adjourned the meeting at 10:15 A.M. Next meeting will be April 14, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. Respectfully submitted, Sally Olson, Secretary.
