Tekamah-Herman grad to speak on Friday

The Lenten season is in full swing as are the annual Men’s Lenten Breakfasts at the Oakland City Auditorium.  This Friday’s breakfast will feature Darl Beck, a 2001 graduate of Tekamah-Herman and a father of two boys.

Beck is a partner with his father-in-law at Cass Plumbing and HVAC.  They have also started a shared workspace business in the old Jack Brother’s store in Tekamah.  He helps lead the LOGOS youth ministry at First Presbyterian church in Tekamah.

Coaching youth wrestling with Trent Leichleiter, Beck’s sons have found a home on the mats as well.  It was through Leichleiter that Mike Lass, co-coordinator of the breakfast series, was able to give the young father this opportunity.

Beck said his topic for Friday will be, “How to win in spite of losing.”

A pancake, egg and sausage breakfast will be served by the men of St. John’s Lutheran Church from 6:00-6:45 a.m.  Singing and Beck’s address will follow with a 7:30 p.m. dismissal.  All area men and boys are encouraged to attend.
