NOTICE OF PASSAGE AND PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE Publication is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of the City of Oakland, Nebraska, at their meeting on February 20th, 2023 have passed and approved Ordinance 745 the title of which reads as follows: ORDINANCE NO. 745 At 7:15 pm Council President N. Anderson made a motion to waive the three readings of Ordinance 745 to change council meeting time to 7:00pm - " AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OAKLAND, NEBRASKA, AMENDING CITY CODE SECTION 1-306; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Motion seconded by Council Member S. Swenson. All present Voting : Aye (Nathan, Jeremiah, Scott, Amy)- 4, Nay - 0. At 7:16pm Council Member J. Johansen made a motion to approve Ordinance 745 to change council meeting time to 7:00pm - " AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OAKLAND, NEBRASKA, AMENDING CITY CODE SECTION 1-306; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OAKLAND, NEBRASKA, AMENDING CITY CODE SECTION 1-306; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OAKLAND, NEBRASKA: Section 1. Section 1-306 of the Municipal Code of the City of Oakland, Nebraska, is amended to provide as follows: SECTION 1-306: PLACE, DAY, TIME; QUORUM A. The regular meetings of the City Council shall be held at City Hall on the third Monday of each month commencing at 7:00 p.m. B. A majority of the Council shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of any business but a fewer number may adjourn from time to time to compel the attendance of absent members. Unless a greater vote is required by law, an affirmative vote of at least one-half of the elected members shall be required for the transaction of any business. C. At the hour appointed for the meeting, the City Clerk shall proceed to call the roll of members and announce whether a quorum is present. If a quorum is present, the Council shall be called to order by the Mayor, if present, or if absent, by the president of the Council. In the absence of both the Mayor and the president of the Council, the meetings shall be called to order by the president pro tempore. Section 2. All Ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 3. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon and be in full force and effect after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
